How to create image backup of bootable USB Drives

Many people prefer using USB drives as an installation media to install Operating System in their computers. By doing so, saves a lot of time and you don’t need to waste any Optical Discs you own. Even though creating bootable USB drive is a simple procedure but it usually takes some time. At times you may need to go through various files and settings to make bootable USB drives. Wouldn’t it be handy if you could make an image backup of a bootable USB pendrive and whenever you need to re-install Operating System on your Computer, just restore the image?

In Volume mode, the software processes and copies the data on primary volume on an USB drive, however, Windows presently limits removable USB drives to only single volume. The Device mode copies the entire data on USB flash drive, including the boot sector data.

How to create backup image of bootable USB drives:

Step 1: Download USB Image Tool.
Step 2: Connect the USB Flash drive to the USB port and then run this software as administrator.
Step 3: Choose connected USB drive and Select Device Mode or Volume Mode from drop-down menu, click Backup button and browse to the destination where you want to save the backup image. Then, click on Save button to start backup USB image.

How to restore the backup image to the USB drive:

Step 1: Connect a USB Flash drive to your PC and launch the application.
Step 2: Select appropriate Mode, click on Restore button and browse to the location where the backup image file is stored. Then, select the image and click Open button to restore the image file to selected USB device.
